Cakaudrove villagers have complained that Voter Registration teams are telling most people they have to go to town to register. The EVR team will only register the elderly, sick and people with disabilities. Once again, Khaiyum doesn’t seem to understand that this looks like a deliberate attempt to see large numbers of voters from one ethnic group slip through the net. Frank will not be happy to see that the plan is so transparent because his troops will be able to see Khaiyum’s deliberate attempt to rob their family members of the opportunity to register. The Roko Tui Cakaudrove did not hesitate to tell the EVR to register everyone, even though the EVR teams come under Khaiyum, not the Provincial administration. Meanwhile Bainimarama just makes empty noises urging people to register, knowing that it’s not compulsory, the time is too limited and the rural and remote villages are disadvantaged.
