Khaiyum claims the dyslexic vote

October 17, 2014

Khaiyum has claimed that if 4000 odd voters had not mistaken 297 for 279 in the recent election the NFP would have been wiped out in the elections. NFP’s Prem Singh, struck back and said the 4000 votes would have made no difference to the percentage of votes received by the NFP. Khaiyum can’t count. But Khaiyum’s biggest mistake is to assume that this one number confusion is only one anyone could have made. Many other people could have made similar mistakes under the electoral system that Khaiyum imposed. In any election system there are swings and roundabouts – you lose some votes here – and pick them up somewhere else. Khaiyum shouldn’t be trying to have it both ways. Is he claiming that Frank is the natural candidate for the dyslexic voter?

Will 255 run last?

September 16, 2014

boica

The voting system he master-minded for Bainimarama asks voters to vote for just one person, not a party, and there are no preferences. Bainimarama’s hope is that his name and his ugly face which he has thrust in our faces in the controlled media and posted on countless billboards, will attract support that the other nobodies of FrankFirst can’t attract.  But what about 255? Khaiyum’s system means we’ll all be able to see how unpopular he really is. If he doesn’t get enough votes personally, it means he can’t be elected on the coat-tails of his puppet.

The election blackout has many forms

September 16, 2014

On the day the election blackout commenced, we hear from Radio Regime run by Khaiyum’s brother that airport renovations are well under way. Then there is the story of a desalination plant installed at the south end of Taveuni to ease water problems in the area. For the regime propaganda mill it’s business as usual!

KFC is on the menu

September 12, 2014

All the talk at the moment is coalition. The voting system Khaiyum has given us is one which inevitably results in coalitions of parties if the elections are genuinely free and fair. Only the arrogance of Bai and Khai and the stifling of debate in our controlled media allowed the idea that FrankFirst Party would make a clean sweep of seats to be floated. Now the Times Tebbutt poll has brought FF’s balloon crashing to earth the serious coalition speculation has started. And if Frank asks anyone other than Khaiyum he’ll find there is no hope of a coalition including Khaiyum. It will have to be a KFC, a Khaiyum Free Coalition. FrankFirst won’t govern on its own, nor will SODELPA, they’ll have to work with NFP or FLP or PDP or even One Fiji. The only thing we can be sure of is it will be KFC.

The clean water promise

September 11, 2014

The FijiFirst manifesto promised ‘subsidised’ clean water for all, but read the fine print and there’s another story. Only some of the water will be free and guess what? It’s Khaiyum’s boys at the WAF who will determine how much you’ve used out of your free quota. As minister for Public Enterprise Khaiyum has run every last detail of WAF, which has hit many people with outrageous bills.  Anyone whose tried to dispute a bill with WAF will know the promise of a subsidy means nothing. With Khaiyum there is one rule: take what your given or even that will be taken away –  my way or the highway.

Either Ratu Joji doesn’t know or …

September 11, 2014

Bainimarama is always saying how stupid we re to follow our chief but then the propaganda machine enlists the name of Ratu Joji Cakobau. The Sun quotes Ratu Joji as saying “all iTaukei land deposited in the land bank was safe and would returned when the lease expired”. Maybe, but it could be gone for 99 years and if the rent was low or no-one paid it, it means the land is being stolen a century at a time. The Sun quotes Ratu Joji as saying “land in the Land bank were deposited only after the consent of the landowners”. This  is true now but Khaiyum’s decree has given Bainimarama the power to make whatever rules he wants. He can remove landowner approval tomorrow if he chooses. Either Ratu Joji doesn’t know what’s in the LUD or words are being put in his mouth.

A thousand people?

September 9, 2014

This is a thousand people?

The disgraceful propaganda rag, the Fiji Sun, reported a thousand people turned out to greet the FrankFirst team led by the unpopular Khaiyum. If the journalist Sheik Dean counted a thousand people here we don’t want him anywhere near counting on polling.

Has One Fiji got them worried?

September 9, 2014

On the same day we read Tui Korocau in Cakaudrove has thrown the support of his people behind One Fiji we hear on Radio Fiji news that One Fiji’s HQ in Suva was broken into and confidential documents relating to the election were stolen. We know SODELPA has got Frank worried, but Frank will be mad that even villages that don’t support SODELPA are not turning to FrankFirst. Bainimarama is mistaken if he thinks stealing One Fiji’s plans will help him.  His problem is 8 years of arrogance and refusal to listen to anyone but Khaiyum.

Khaiyum’s personal police investigate

September 5, 2014

Khaiyum speaks and Langman obeys

From its very beginning FICAC has been the personal police force of Khaiyum, trumping up charges against political rivals. Now it has been given the job of investigating a complaint from an 80 year old couple who complained that “a Fijian of Indian descent employee of the courier company” came to their home with voting papers and ticked the number of a candidate for the couple, even though it was not the candidate of their choice. This should be investigated by the Fiji Police Force, not by the private police force of the Secretary-General of FrankFirst. The voter was wanting to vote Fiji Labour party. Can anyone guess the name of  the candidate whose number was ticked?

Squeezing the lemon to the last drop

September 3, 2014

What’s in these bins? Votes, I hope.

For nearly 8 years we’ve watched the Bainimarama regime use the powers of government to give hand-outs like they’ve come out of their own pocket.  But handing out rubbish bins paid for by the Koren Government is really squeezing the lemon past the last drop of juice. No mention of who paid for it in the propaganda. For people who pay rates the bins are a right, not some favour.  What do we pay rates for if not to receive a rubbish collection service.
