Radio Khaiyum on the RFMF’s case

October 28, 2013

Radio Khaiyum has reported the story of a man abducted by military personnel over what looks like a purely personal matter. Keni Finau told FBC News he had lodged a complaint against a military officer in 2010 and FBC ran with the story. Police Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu claims the FPF is “working closely with the military about the complaint from Finau”, which is regime bullshit speak for “it’s going nowhere”. What’s really interesting about this report is that it’s broadcast on FBC run by the Khaiyum brother. Our media is muzzled when it comes to political news so it looks like Khaiyum is using this report to show that he’s the boss. He, not the military, is the boss.

The FPF is sick with Bainikhaiyum disease

October 22, 2013

The cancellation of the Commissioner of Police’s 3rd quarterly parade scheduled for Friday is an indictment of the state of the Fiji Police Force under the Bainikhaiyum regime. It started with Teleni turning Commissioner’s parades into Revival meetings, ignoring the reality of the multi-faith force. Naivalurua tried to instil discipline in the force and led from the front, but he only seemed to the make the divisions worse. And then he’s gone without any explanation. The claim that the low turnout to the Commissioner’s Parade was due to transport difficulties is truly pathetic. That’s the same old excuse they give when the FPF don’t answer calls from people having their homes invaded. The FPF is a sick institution and the disease it suffers from is called Bainikhaiyum.

The Bainimarama model

October 22, 2013

Is it just a co-incidence, or is it a result of the seizure by force of control of state in 2006. One thing is for sure there has been an increase in violence. Within a 48 hour period Fiji Police received reports of six violent assaults. The lesson that you take whatever you like from others if you are stronger has been rammed down our necks for the past 7 years.

The wild west

October 15, 2013

Does anyone remember the promise to put an end to crime? The army was supposed to beat the criminal elements down. When Teleni was Commissioner the FPF tried to fake the crime statistics but it didn’t take Einstein to work out that you can’t hide crime from victims. The latest statistics reveal that crime is highest in the Western Division. All the FPF could do was “plead with members of the public to be responsible and take precautions in securing their properties”.

The Police Commisioner joke

October 3, 2013

What a joke!!! The report that Secretary of the Constitutional Offices Commission and Acting Solicitor General, Sharvada Sharma is calling for applications from suitable and qualified individuals for the position can’t be taken seriously. We all know that the decision on who get the job will be made by Bainimarama and his pick is likely to be another military man. Brigadier Aziz is the likely pick because it means Bainimarama doesn’t have to pretend that he could consider him for the job of Commander RFMF. We all know that the new Commander RFMF will have to be iTaukei, or near enough, in the form of Francis Kean.

FPF prepares to deal with old people

This is apparently members of the Police Special Response Unit during the Senior Citizens Day celebration at Nasinu. WTF? Are the old people supposed to watch this and warn their grandchildren not to break the law?

Police Commissioner appointment a typical Bainikhaiyum show

September 25, 2013

Where is the transparency? At last the regime has admitted that the Police Commissioner has not finished up in his job but nothing more is said. No thank you to the out-going Commissioner? Has he done a good job according to the regime? Suppressing the investigation of the torture video, is that a good thing? The Bainimarama way is to keep everyone guessing. Is Naivalurua hoping to be named as the next Commander RFMF? Bainimarama has announced that the position will be filled by a process laid down in the Constitution, but that requires the Constitutional Offices Commission, which is supposed to include the Leader of the Opposition and 1 person appointed by the President on advice of the Leader of the Opposition. But “the quorum for the meetings of the Commission shall consist of the chairperson and 2 other members”. So it will be Bainimarama, Khaiyum and one stooge nominated by Puppet Pressie on the advice of Bainimarama.
Typical Bainikhaiyum.

FPF turmoil continues

September 23, 2013

Coup Four Point Five has been told Assistant Police Commissioner Biu Matavou gave chase to a police vehicle which passed his private vehicle and when he caught up, walked up to a Constable in the driver’s seat and said: “Is this the way to drive, you fucken Indian”. Coup 4.5 said a complaint was made but it has been swept under the carpet. It’s hard for us to know the truth about all this – who said what exactly – but one thing is absolutely clear: the Fiji Police Force is riven with conflict and division based on race, suspicion, corruption, rumours, and a complete inability to have allegations discussed openly in the media. It started with Teleni and it’s still going strong. A force that was being moulded into a professional effective policing body under Commissioner Andrew Hughes has been turned into a hot-bed of politics and back-stabbing.

At last Police investigate

August 16, 2013

Naivalurua’s police force has been investigating parents for criminal neglect of their children but it’s taken 4 weeks and a public complaint from the Union to get them to investigate the death of a worker at the Lautoka mill. A worker who was a father of four suffered 50 per cent burns to his body after the support structure of an evaporator gave way, pouring extremely hot water onto the Lautoka mill factory floor on July 25. We know that no-one in the regime controlled FSC takes any responsibility for anything, so let’s see what happens.

Torture cops walk free

August 14, 2013

Naivalurua is up to his neck in a criminal cover-up

Two police who were charged with three counts of unlawful supply of illicit drugs after marijuana exhibits went missing from Nabua Police Station in May last year have walked free after the Magistrate said there was no evidence. One of the two, Amani Bosenawai, was one of the police identified in the notorious torture video. Yet again the smell of something not right is wafting around. Does Bosenawai’s knowledge of the names involved in the torture video and the cover-up by Naivalurua mean that his silence has to be bought?
