This time it’s Ashwin in the dock

Ashwin Raj has enjoyed himself passing judgement on defenceless journalists and media. Now he has to face his own tribunal where others will be asking the questions. I would give anything to be in Geneva for this performance. Sadly he has Nazhat standing between him and full accountability. When it comes to accountability this duna is very slippery, but Ashwin may yet have his turn as sweating.

  2. Anjaiya Mudaliar Says:

Hey Holiday time where were you when all iTaukei’s used to be in government and all iTaukei’s used to attend such meetings? Why are you jumping when now other races are given that opportunity? Right from Ratu Mara’s time till Qarase’s time – all were iTaukei’s attending and holding positions in government.

I am definitely not a fan of Khaiyum but I must point this out to you that All you named are qualified and experienced people.

Please think before you write such racists post. It will help no one.

  3. Anjaiya Mudaliar Says:

Dear Holiday time, there is no need for research, just stop calling names on people and stop being racists. If they are GAY, that does not mean they are not qualified. You were not chosen in the team because you are a racist and you are not qualified. The team present at Geneva are doing the job and you can sit and grog because you are a hopeless person. You not doing any good to anyone.

  4. Patronising CJ Says:

well…the CJ should not be there…he does not belong there because this is administrative and not judicial…is he there to explain that his judicial officers are independent???? no. in any event he cannot say that Fijis judiciary is independent.
And to have the hide to say that Fijians in authority beat up citizens because of a cultural misconception…please explain.
This seems to me to be so racist and patronising that the CJ should be publicly ridiculed.

  5. It's ok to lie according to Aiyaaz and his team Says:

So it’s ok to lie to UN about human right conditions in Fiji. It’s ok to say police brutality exists but we are doing something about it. It’s ok to say that 2013 constitution is a people’s work. After all we have people blogging away that Aiyaaz and his gang are fair and a right to that. Well well, they are ones with body guards 24 -7. One wonders why…

  6. Taxi Driver Says:

@Patronising CJ, why you think CJ should not be part of this delegation? The types of you have been saying Nazhat, Gates and Khaiyum were drafters of decrees and 2006 take over, so why now you saying CJ should not be there? Isn’t he still part of the team?

    • why no CJ Says:

So true, seems people in Fiji have a very short memory and GET easliy fooled by the free gifts promised by the the regime that they tend to forget and forgive quickly. So far we have seen theband of thieves going on holiday, no subsidised electricity or water, minimum wage at 2.32, hardly any change to cost of living, bullying techniques used by Minister of Education, lies by Minister of Women, fist fights and swearing by PM, and the mother-of-all the public accounts. People forget that Aiyaaz was the mastermind of all, and his buddies are in media, judiciary, tourism, business, and in parliament. Anything that will be challenge din court will be crafted by this same CJ, anything that goes to media will be cosmeticised by Ashwin, anything that goes to UN will be dramatised in Aiyaaz’s favor by nAZAT. wake up Fiji!!!

      • Turaga Says:

Only Chief Justice can answer questions on Judiciary, so that is why he was part of this team – am I wrong?

  7. Tomasi Says:

@Turaga, that is what they want us to think. But the truth is far more complicated and worrying than that. We are talkng about the long established principles of separation of powers, independence of the Judiciary and the enforcement and interpretaion of the law in the most objective way possible. Disregarding these principles and safeguards would mean the subservience of law and justice to a political entity which is the Government. We must preserve this at all costs.
