Bainimarama tries to pick a better match

Still smarting from his humilitation at the sharp tongue of Ratu Timoci Vesikula, Frank made sure he had a softer match for his next meeting.  So this time he had a face-off with students who are current beneficiaries of the government’s Tertiary Education Loan Scheme, hoping no doubt that youth would be intimidated by his exalted status.  But even here he did not have it easy.  They asked him tough questions about the way the scheme operated and why it was that way.  Pio Tikoduadua was left to admit “Obviously there are genuine concerns” and to try to tell himself that people are happy because “the Prime Minister is listening”.  After seven years of telling people to get stuffed and take what they get from him, he now has to listen and explain his decisions.  Perhaps his next face-off will have to be with Primary School children.
