Do as I say, not as I do

The hallmark of the Bainimarama regime is its “do as I say, not as I do” attitude. Schools have been ordered to come up with audited reports before they can expect any of the extra money promised to allow school fees to be abolished next year. This will cost money, meaning less funds for school activities. Why can’t the education ministry audit as it thinks necessary rather than demanding an expensive audit from every school in the country. Bainimarama has not yet submitted all his spending to independent audit, so why should he impose it on all schools.
