Will Monasavu landowners trust the regime?

Commissioner Western Commander Joeli Cawaki is trying to talk the 12 landowning units that own land on which the Monasavu dam and the Wailoa pumping station are built to invest the $55million they’ll receive over the next 55 years in the regime’s favourite investments. Cawaki doesn’t say what this is but it could be Fiji Airways, Fiji Sugar Corporation or just the annual budget handouts to buy votes. The Monasavu landowners should insist that their money is invested in something safe, which probably means buying property or shares overseas.
