The smell of corruption at Biosecurity Authority of Fiji

At the end of last year the expat head of Biosecurity Authority of Fiji resigned unexpectedly after less than two years in the job. In that time he’d managed to secure access for our ginger to the Australian market. All the right noises were made when he resigned – he was reported as thanking everyone etc etc but no reason was given for his departure. Now FICAC have been sent in and a senior officer is on leave. It’s the familiar Bainikhaiyum pattern. What is it- back-stabbing, embezzlement, fraud? Who knows under the Bainikhaiyum regime?
