The United Front for a Democratic Fiji has pointed out a glaring inconsistency in the new constitution which the regime should explain. Between now and the end of the year Bainimarama and Khaiyum can change the constitution they’ve cooked up by passing a decree and having it rubber-stamped by the Khaiyum court. After that, if the elected Parliament wants to change the constitution, they have to pass a bill with a three quarters majority and then put it to the people for a referendum. Typical Bainikhaiyum.
