Concerns over land will not be hidden

Thanks to Radio New Zealand we know that landowners and tenants are BOTH worried about the future of laws relating to land. The Constitution treats the Native Lands Trust Act and the Agricultural Landlords and Tenants Act as two regular laws which can be changed by simple majority in Parliament. When it came to landowners rights in relation to minerals – not mentioned under the proposed constitution – Khaiyum dodged the question, saying our mining laws are out-dated. What this proves is that more time is needed to ensure people understand the dramatic changes proposed in this constitution.
